Farewell to our 2023 Fellows

On November 4, the 2023 Sydney Symphony Fellows performed their final concert as part of the Fellowship program with an exciting selection of repertoire from composers Janáček, Mendelssohn and Stravinsky.
The event was well-attended by friends, family and our generous chair sponsors and donors, without whom we could not operate this vital platform that supports to shape the profile of Australia’s next generation of inspiring musicians.
Throughout 2023, the Sydney Symphony Fellows participated in many mainstage performances at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, touring orchestral and chamber music performances across regional NSW, Masterclasses with world-class solo artists from across the globe and several chamber music performances alongside their Sydney Symphony permanent musician mentors.
We wish them well as they continue in their careers as highly sought after, professional orchestral musicians!

Fellows are provided a wonderful opportunity to perform alongside our permanent musicians performing chamber music where they receive specialised coaching while they explore a wide range of repertoire.
The four string fellows performed Mendelssohn’s String Octet alongside their Sydney Symphony mentors in the stunning Neilson Room at Pier 2/3.
