Regional Tour 2023
14 June, 2023
And that’s a wrap on our 2023 Regional Tour! Thanks to everyone across New South Wales who gave us such a warm welcome. Take a glimpse behind the scenes in our exclusive reel below.
In May, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra embarked on its annual Regional New South Wales Tour, taking the Orchestra to Wollongong, Goulburn, Wyong, Nowra and Orange.
Under the baton of conductor Simon Bruckard, our performances showcased the works of Grieg, Strauss, and Beethoven, with Principal Oboe Diana Doherty taking center stage as the soloist in Strauss’s Oboe Concerto, enchanting the audience with her unmatched technical skill and bringing every sublime moment to life.
As part of the tour, we also presented special schools concerts titled The Environment & Me in Wollongong, Goulburn, and Wyong. These performances aimed to engage students and explore how music can convey stories about our planet.
This year holds special significance as it marks 85 years of regional touring for the Orchestra, reflecting our dedication and commitment to making live symphonic music accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
