Program Book

Behind every great piece is a great story. Have a read through the program book to get all the details.

What happens when a great soulful voice meets the power of an orchestra?

For singer-songwriter Lior and acclaimed composer Nigel Westlake, the outcome is a luminous deep-dive into the power of human compassion.

Based on Hebrew-Arabic texts, Compassion is a symphonic song cycle in seven movements, uniting Lior’s energising vocal range with Nigel Westlake’s orchestral writings. Moments of ethereal beauty and lyricism give way to harmonic innovations and dazzling percussion, as we’re swept up into that rare realm of artistry and collaboration that crosses cultural and emotional divides.

But the journey doesn’t end there. Lior pours his passion into a range of songs from his award-winning career. From “This Old Love” and “Bedouin Song”, to “If I Lost Your Love” – his musical influences transport us to the harmonies and rhythms of the Middle East, and back home.
