From the very first performance in the Concert Hall in 1973 to today, the Sydney Symphony has been at the centre of the biggest moments in the history of this iconic building.
As part of Inside/Out at the House, the Sydney Symphony brings you some of these history-making moments featuring unforgettable music by Smetana, Wagner, Ross Edwards and many other great composers. And to make sure everyone can join in the celebrations, tickets are only $20 in the recently reopened Concert Hall. Presented by ABC Classic’s Genevieve Lang and conducted by Umberto Clerici.

Celebrating 50 years of the Sydney Opera House, Inside/Out at the House is a 7-day classical festival featuring world-class performances from London Symphony Orchestra, The Australian Ballet, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and Australian Chamber Orchestra.
Each evening from 1-7 May 2023, a special performance will take place inside the heart of the Opera House, while simultaneously broadcast live to audiences to enjoy outside on the Forecourt.
