Cathy-Di Zhang

Award-winning Australian soprano, Cathy-Di Zhang, is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music, London. For Opera Australia, she has performed the roles of Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Micaëla (Carmen) and Rosina (The Barber of Seville). For Pinchgut Opera, she performed the roles of Amour/La folie in Platée and Créuse in Médée. For State Opera South Australia, she sang Mimi in “Bohème on the beach” for over 6000 people and for Victorian Opera, she created the role of Zhu Ying Tai in Richard Mills’ new work, The Butterfly Lovers. Other opera credits include Cendrillon, Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Lauretta & Nella (Gianni Schicchi), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel) and Lisa (La sonnambula).
Her 2023 season includes Zerlina, Rosina and Opera Up Late (World Pride) for Opera Australia, appearing in concert with the ACO at Ukaria, “The Pleasures of Versailles” with Pinchgut Opera and taking the Butterfly Lovers to Singapore with Victorian Opera. Cathy-Di is also a guest broadcaster for Sunday Opera on ABC Classic.
